About A Beacon of Rebirth Poster Project

The residents of Kamaishi, with unfathomable feelings locked in their hearts
as they try to take the first step in moving on from the disaster.
An advertising professional from Morioka, sincerely hoping to convey
the raw human strength he feels in them.
A cameraman from Tokyo struggling over the propriety of photographing such a scene.

This project was born from these combined sentiments.

We wish to deliver a message to the people of inland Iwate.
It is with this intent that we have developed this independent production.

As of April 20, we are displaying the posters at various locations
in Morioka city; the venues of events relating to Fukushima prefecture;
a bar in Tokyo; and at the Kamaishi city disaster response office and refuge shelters.

From here on, we will gather further support and send this message
throughout Iwate prefecture, including to the coastal areas.
Thereafter, we hope to spread these posters to the rest of the country,
and convey the energy bursting forth in Iwate.

Since the launch of this website, we have received many messages
from across Japan and the entire world.
We are hand-delivering each and every one of these inspiring messages of support
to the people of Kamaishi.

That the feelings evoked in the people who see these posters will become
the strength for the people working towards a new tomorrow
- this is the sole aim of this project, and our genuine hope.
